Federal authorities on Wednesday announced the arrest of a fugitive leader of a violent Brooklyn and Queens street gang. The U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn says Devon Rodney is in custody and is awaiting arraignment.

_A popular high school student committed suicide after her cries for help to her hundreds of online friends were ignored. Ashley Duncan, 17, wrote 'I finally got a gun' and then posted a picture of a revolver which, soon after, it is believed she used to shoot herself dead. It followed a series of increasingly dark posts on Tumblr and Twitter where she talked of suicide, questioned the meaning of her life and said she was 'miserable'. She wrote: 'Life ain't worth the pain. if you know or have known what it feels like to want to die every minute second hour day week month year then you feel me. 'I might not struggle financially but I struggle emotionally and mentally and I think that's the worst struggle. 'So in asking why can't it be my choice to die now?… I’m miserable. 'One day I won't be here anymore and that'll be the happiest day of my life… I'm tired and I'm done with this life.' 'It's like God is torturing me by keeping me here.' She also wrote: 'The only thing that made me happy is gone…I'm miserable.' The 'thing' she refers to is not clear, but a previous post suggests she had just split up with a partner. She had written: 'My heart is broken. I'm not picking up the pieces and I'm not gonna rely on anybody to put my heart back together. It's just that destroyed.'

_" Dozens of reputed gang members have been arrested in relation to a string of shootings in Brooklyn. Police say 43 members of two Brownsville gangs were indicted in the shootings, which terrorized several apartment complexes and left at least two dead. The suspects were linked to at least two murders, as well as shootings, robberies and assaults dating back to June of 2010. In one of the homicides, police say an innocent bystander was killed and several other innocent victims were injured when a gang member fired a hail of bullets into a courtyard while seeking out rival gang members. The suspects, some as young as 15, were charged with murder, conspiracy, robbery and other charges. They are reputed members of the Hood Starz of Marcus Garvey Village and the Wave Gang of the Langston Hughes Houses." - ABC 7

_You probably have come across the story at some point from last month involving 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera and the sick bastard who sexually abused and killed her. Well the good news was that he was caught, and even admitted to the crime. Earlier this week he was sentenced to life without parole but decided to shorten his sentence by taking the coward route and hanging himself in his cell less than 48 hours after being sentenced. Did he really hang himself? Who knows, or better yet, who cares.

_Gurmeet Singh, 40, of Queens was arrested on Monday and now faces charges including rape, robbery, assault and sex abuse. Police say Singh picked up a 26-year-old woman on May 6 in Williamsburg and allegedly attacked her in the back seat of the cab.
