JUICE APPEAL: Fat Joe stops by Juices for Life with Adjua Styles and Styles P. | Mass Appeal6/21/2018
“Believe it or not, Pun’s death wasn’t even enough to make me go hard and lose weight like that,” says Fat Joe, who pulled up to Styles P’s Juices For Life on Castle Hill Ave in the Bronx to talk about life and health and hip hop. After losing six friends in a row to heart attacks, Joe had an epiphany while attending one of their funerals. “I was lookin’ at my own funeral,” says the hip hop legend. “This is gonna happen to me. That’s why I went so hard losin’ weight and trying to change my life.” These days he works out religiously and only eats fried food once a year. Styles and Mrs. P hooked him up a special juice blend with peach, papaya, and a touch of watermelon. Joe named it the Crack Attack! You gotta love this guy. An Australian professor and performance artist is growing an ear on his arm as part of a new project. Stelarc, as he's known, has been working on the project for almost a decade. He had a biopolymer scaffold in the shape of an ear placed under his skin, and in six months his tissue and blood vessels grew around it. His next step is to grow an ear lobe, and eventually get a microphone and wireless transmitter inserted so the ear can connect to the internet.

After getting caught stealing, Justin Upton swings his helmet in frustration but loses his grip and accidentally hits Yonder Alonso. Justin Upton nearly cost the Padres a lot more than his $14.5 million salary by almost seriously injuring teammate Yonder Alonso with his batting helmet Saturday night.
After getting picked off trying to steal a base in the top of the 8th inning of a 7-5 win over the Rockies, the high-priced outfielder lost his cool in the dugout and slammed his helmet, which ricocheted off the ground and hit Alonso in the head. Several Padres players rushed to their fallen teammate, who got up in an even worse mood than Upton and knocked down some buckets of gum in frustration. Alonso was then pulled from the game as a precautionary measure. After the game, Upton took full responsibility for his actions. "It's childish. I've got to do better than that and not make that mistake again," he said, via MLB.com.
"I'm a professional opera, concert and choral singer that was diagnosed with a brain tumour (a GBM as it turned out). The neurosurgeon's advice was to do an awake craniotomy so that I could sing during the surgery (on June13th 2014) in order to avoid deficits after the procedure. The music neuro team of the UMC in Utrecht was also involved in order to assist the surgery. There is no blood or exposed flesh in the video.
I sing two (first and last) couplets of Schubert's lied "Gute Nacht": the minor - major transition in order to see if I can still recognise the key change. "
This is why riding those rides at theme parks and carnivals that shoot you up into the air while you're suspended in some ball-like cage are dangerous

Most people were first exposed to Michael C. Ruppert through the 2009 documentary, Collapse, directed by Chris Smith. Collapse was one of the scariest documentaries about our world and the fragile the state of our planet. It was also one of VICE's favorite films from the past ten years.
Michael was forced to leave the LAPD after claiming that the CIA was complicit in selling drugs across America, and he quickly became one of the most original and strident voices to talk about climate change, government corruption, and peak oil through his website, "From the Wilderness." Following the release of Collapse, Michael's personal life underwent something of a collapse itself and he paid off all his debts, left behind all his friends, and moved with his dog Rags to Colorado, planning to commit suicide. VICE caught up with Michael in the middle of the epic beauty of the Rocky Mountains at the end of last year. We found a man undergoing a spiritual rebirth—still passionate about the world and with a whole new set of apocalyptic issues to talk about. Apocalypse, Man is an intimate portrait of a man convinced of the imminent collapse of the world, but with answers to how the human spirit can survive the impending apocalypse. Soundtrack by Sunn O))), Flaming Lips, Interpol, Michael C. Ruppert, and more. Directed by Andy Capper.
