After losing six friends in a row to heart attacks, Joe had an epiphany while attending one of their funerals. “I was lookin’ at my own funeral,” says the hip hop legend. “This is gonna happen to me. That’s why I went so hard losin’ weight and trying to change my life.” These days he works out religiously and only eats fried food once a year. An Australian professor and performance artist is growing an ear on his arm as part of a new project. Stelarc, as he's known, has been working on the project for almost a decade. He had a biopolymer scaffold in the shape of an ear placed under his skin, and in six months his tissue and blood vessels grew around it. His next step is to grow an ear lobe, and eventually get a microphone and wireless transmitter inserted so the ear can connect to the internet.

After getting caught stealing, Justin Upton swings his helmet in frustration but loses his grip and accidentally hits Yonder Alonso. Justin Upton nearly cost the Padres a lot more than his $14.5 million salary by almost seriously injuring teammate Yonder Alonso with his batting helmet Saturday night.
After getting picked off trying to steal a base in the top of the 8th inning of a 7-5 win over the Rockies, the high-priced outfielder lost his cool in the dugout and slammed his helmet, which ricocheted off the ground and hit Alonso in the head. Several Padres players rushed to their fallen teammate, who got up in an even worse mood than Upton and knocked down some buckets of gum in frustration. Alonso was then pulled from the game as a precautionary measure. After the game, Upton took full responsibility for his actions. "It's childish. I've got to do better than that and not make that mistake again," he said, via MLB.com.
