"Before he was shot to death inside his home, a Gwinnett County 14-year-old was either restrained or tied up and left in the kitchen to die. Grayson High School freshman Paul Sampleton Jr. probably had been home a matter of minutes before he faced his killer, according to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday. Paul’s father, who lives in Lithonia, found his son sometime after noon Wednesday, according to police. The teenager was dead by the time emergency responders arrived. A fellow Grayson freshman said he and his sixth period classmates were thrilled when the final exam ended Wednesday morning. It was officially time for the holiday break." - AJC "A teenage girl, who friends say was bullied at school, committed suicide by jumping in front of an oncoming train Wednesday afternoon, in front of other students. "She was beautiful, she was so sweet, loud, she was crazy, she didn't deserve it, she was bullied," said Briana Torres, the victim's friend. She was so picked on, that Felicia Garcia's friends tell Eyewitness News, the normally outgoing 15 year old felt she had no options and instead threw herself in front of a train at the Huguenot Railway Station Wednesday afternoon. Dozens of fellow students from Tottenville High School watched in disbelief. "She gave this girl her phone, she dropped her books, put her hood on and jumped," said Sabrina Chiapparelli, a student. The day before the fatal plunge, the sophomore posted one last cry for help on Twitter, saying "I can't, I'm done, I give up." At school Thursday, students were still reeling." 8-Year-Old Boy Who Was Raped & Burned Alive Names His 27-Year-Old Attacker,13 Years Later10/19/2012 "On his eighth birthday he was tied to a tree, doused in petrol and set on fire. The inferno left Robbie Middleton with third-degree burns to 99 per cent of his body. No-one expected him to survive. But in a story of staggering courage, Robbie lived. He endured 200 operations and endless therapy to repair the burns. Tragically, he was to die just weeks short of his 21st birthday from a cancer which doctors blamed on the original injuries. After years of such terrible suffering, Robbie’s premature death was to have one positive outcome In a harrowing 17-minute video made just before he died, he named the man he believed had torched him in Splendora, Texas, in 1998. And he also claimed that he had been raped by the same person, a 13-year-old neighbour called Don Collins, two weeks before being set alight. The terrible act was, Robbie alleged, a way of ensuring his silence. His accusations have opened the way for Collins, now a 27-year-old convicted sex offender, to be charged with felony murder. The charge is only made for a criminal offence which has happened in conjunction with another crime" "A passenger says there was nothing to provoke police to fatally shoot an unarmed Army National Guardsman driving on a New York City highway. Diane Deferrari says the bullet that struck Noel Polanco in the abdomen narrowly missed her. She said uniformed officers pointed their guns through her open window. She said the officers were yelling obscenities before pulling their car over near LaGuardia Airport on Thursday. Deferrari said one of the officers told her: "Your friend shot himself." An off-duty police officer, Vanessa Rodriguez, was asleep in the back seat. She was awakened by the gunshot. Police say it's unclear what prompted Det. Hassam Hamdy to shoot. Deferrari said she complied with an order to raise her hands, but the driver's hands remained on the wheel."
